Toast

mmm. I prefer the smell of toast over bacon.

It reminds me of visiting my Grandma and Grandpa in Nora Springs, Iowa. I was in my first few years of elementary school when I lived in Mankato, Minnesota, and they were about two hours away.

Do you like to eat toast for breakfast? What do you put on it? I like butter and jam. Sometimes I like peanut butter with a soft-boiled egg on my toast. I still haven't met anyone else that likes that combination. Do you?

Let's talk toast.
But first let's get to know the toaster.

We have a fancy Kitchenaid Toaster Oven that doesn't have room on our counter top so we've been using this typical toaster from Hamilton Beach Electrics. They have some recipes here starting on page 8.

I looked up the official names of the features. You have to push down on the bread lifter to turn it on.

Here we have the programming buttons: on/cancel, bagel, defrost, and reheat.
I'm sure you use the shade selector the most.

Let's compare all the shades. I used Nature's Own Honey Wheat. It's my sweetie's favorite.

Level one on the shade selector.

Level Two

My favorite: level three.

Level Four

Level Five

Level Five is the one you eat when you mess up your kid's preferred shade.

There is a really big jump between three and four, and I think four and five look really similar. Maybe we need a new toaster.

Do you want a slice of toast now?

Did you just spend five minutes reading this whole post on toast?

April Fool's!
